Family Recipe: Hot Fudge Pudding Cake
My awesome Aunt Pati shared my Great Grandmas recipe and a picture for the most amazing dessert ever….HOT FUDGE PUDDING CAKE!
What is hot fudge pudding cake you ask? The best way to explain it is chocolate cake on the top and warm delicious chocolate pudding on the bottom, once it is baked. The key to serving it is with ice cream!
You can make this gluten free by using Gluten Free Flour in place of the regular flour. ON TO THE RECIPE!!
Sift together in a Bowl
- 1 cup flour (gluten free if you want that option)
- 2tsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 3/4 Cup Sugar
- 2TBS Cocoa Powder
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- 2TBS Melted Shortening
- 1/2 cup Chopped Walnuts (optional)
Spread into 9″ pan and sprinkle the following mixture over the top:
- 1cup Brown Sugar
- 4TBS Cocoa Powder
Now Pour 1 & 3/4 cups Hot water over the top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
It is delicious served warm with vanilla Ice cream!
The Recipe can easily be doubled by using a 9″ x 13″ Pan.
